Donald Trump attended the Presidents Cup at Medinah, where the United States secured a 17-13 victory against Team International. The US team overturned a deficit in the Sunday singles matches to extend their winning streak in the biennial golf event.

US captain Brandt Snedeker credited the president for his side's success. Trump was present at the start of each match, shaking hands with competitors as they approached the first tee.

During one such exchange, Australian golfer Adam Scott and Trump shared an extended handshake. Both men appeared to be smiling during the interaction. Scott previously won the 2016 WGC-Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral.

Team International's failure to convert their lead means Scott has now participated in 12 Presidents Cup competitions without a win. The United States' last defeat in the event was in 1998.
