A partnership between home furnishings retailer Dunelm and charity Age UK has smashed its £2 million fundraising target, one year ahead of schedule. The partnership, which was launched in 2020, aimed to raise £2 million in three years to support Age UK's services for older people nationwide. However, thanks to the efforts of Dunelm staff, customers, and other donors, the partnership has beaten expectations by raising an incredible £2 million in just over two years.
Age UK's services include providing advice and support for older people, as well as campaigning for the rights of older people and their carers. The funds raised through the partnership will help to support these vital services, which make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of older people across the UK.
Dunelm's managing director, Nick Wilkinson, said: 'We are absolutely thrilled to have reached this milestone and would like to thank our customers, colleagues, and partners for their incredible support. We are proud to be working with Age UK to make a positive difference to the lives of older people nationwide.'
Age UK's chief executive, Caroline Abrahams, added: 'We are incredibly grateful to Dunelm for their generosity and commitment to our charity. The funds raised through this partnership will help us to continue providing vital services to older people across the UK.'
