Dwight Yorke, the former Trinidad and Tobago captain and manager, is reportedly being considered for the vacant Ghana head coach role. Carlos Queiroz departed from the position on 1 October, and the Ghana Football Association is now seeking a successor.
According to Ghanaian media, Yorke is on a list of potential candidates that also includes Pape Thiaw, Aliou Cissé, and former Morocco head coach Walid Regragui. Yorke, speaking from his home in Dubai, stated his interest in the job, citing Ghana's history and available players.
Yorke has previously managed Australia's A-League team Macarthur, leading them to an Australia Cup success in 2022 before his dismissal in January 2023. He also managed the Trinidad and Tobago national team, with his tenure ending in March following talks over revised terms.
The Ghanaian FA has not confirmed any approach to Yorke. The Ghana national team is currently at the bottom of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group with no points.
