Dyson's CameraJet toothbrush, which includes a camera and a built-in water jet, is currently unavailable for purchase. The device is priced at £419.99.
Dyson has acknowledged that "a small number of early batches may have experienced a component issue." The company is isolating these batches and taking steps to support customers.
Dyson also stated that there are "some shortages of supply as we are in the process of scaling up production." The company anticipates the next wave of the CameraJet to be available in the coming weeks.
Dentist Dr Zaeem Jafri, who tested the CameraJet, found the water jet difficult to angle and noted it did not seem to find all gaps between teeth. He also mentioned that a non-foaming toothpaste, sold by Dyson from £8.49, is needed for an adequate camera view.
Dr Reena Wadia, a periodontist, cautioned that the water jet is an adjunct and not a replacement for flossing or interdental brushes.
