The East of England is bracing itself for a winter blast as the Met Office issues a severe snow warning, affecting millions of people in the region. From 9pm tonight until 2pm tomorrow, an area stretching from Kent to Norfolk will be hit with heavy snowfall, threatening to bring roads to a standstill and causing disruption to daily life.
According to Met Office data, temperatures will plummet to as low as -2°C in some areas, with wind speeds reaching up to 40mph. The organisation has warned that the heavy snowfall will lead to treacherous driving conditions, making it difficult for people to travel unless absolutely necessary.
Residents in affected areas are being urged to take precautions, including keeping a close eye on the weather forecast and avoiding any non-essential travel. Drivers are also advised to slow down and leave plenty of space between vehicles to reduce the risk of accidents.
The Met Office has issued separate warnings for Scotland, where heavy rain and strong winds are expected to hit the west coast, but the East of England remains the primary focus for the snow warning.
