East Riding of Yorkshire Council is promoting its free Wellbeing for Us programme, which aims to support residents aged 18 and over with their mental health and wellbeing. The programme is designed to help individuals build confidence, reduce isolation, and make meaningful social connections.
The initiative includes face-to-face workshops and informal peer support social groups. These sessions cover various topics, such as managing anxiety and stress, and boosting self-esteem. The council also stated that the programme aims to help residents access wider support, including community organisations, NHS referrals, and other health services.
Workshops are currently being delivered on a rolling basis in Withernsea, Hornsea, Bridlington, Beverley, Driffield, Pocklington, Goole, and Hessle. Drop-in sessions are available in Goole and at Lelley Fields Crematorium. Informal peer support social groups are also being held in Goole and Lelley Fields Crematorium, with more planned.
