EastEnders fans have reportedly spotted what they describe as a significant blunder in a recent episode, alongside expressing strong disapproval over the death of a major character.
The episode, which aired on Wednesday, 9 September, showed Max Branning suffering a heart attack. Viewers observed that Max's loved ones initially stood still for a few seconds after the opening credits, before moving to help him. Social media users also noted that actors appeared to look towards a director before reacting.
Later in the same episode, Zoe Slater, played by Michelle Ryan, was found dead in bed by her mother, Kat Slater, after suffering a head injury. This storyline has been met with dissatisfaction from some fans, with one viewer questioning why the character was brought back after 20 years only to be killed off in this manner.
However, Michelle Ryan, speaking to Radio Times, confirmed that her return to the show for a year was always the agreed plan. She stated that killing off Zoe seemed like a natural conclusion for the character, rather than having her run away again.
