The bespoke packs could include free fans or other cooling products, along with financial assistance towards electricity costs, potentially totalling up to £100 per household. While this figure represents the maximum value of support, it's not a guaranteed cash payment, according to EDF.
Eligibility for the scheme is determined through various channels, including customer support teams, referrals from trusted partners like Charis and SHINE London, community organisations, and direct customer engagement. Those who qualify may receive essential advice on coping with hot weather and practical cooling equipment tailored to their individual circumstances.
Customers struggling with heat-related concerns can contact EDF directly to inquire about the Heatwave Relief Packs and broader summer support available for vulnerable individuals. Joining the company's free Priority Services Register (PSR) is also recommended, although PSR registration does not automatically guarantee a Heatwave Relief Pack. EDF encourages customers who are facing financial difficulties or worried about managing safely in hot weather to reach out.
