Ted, an eight-year-old from Melksham, Wiltshire, who is a superfan of Henry vacuum cleaners, has been presented with a limited edition model. The gift marks the company's 45th anniversary.
Ted has amassed a collection of 35 Henry vacuums since his interest began three years ago, with the oldest dating back to 1989. He received one of only 1,000 special edition vacuums during a tour of the Numatic International factory in Chard, Somerset, on National Manufacturing Day.
His mother, Lisa, stated that Ted's school uses his interest as an opportunity to teach life skills, providing him with his own Henry as an incentive for good behaviour and completing schoolwork. Ted reportedly educates his schoolmates on vacuum models and tools.
The limited edition vacuum features an automated arm placing the 'y' into Henry's name and a black and white Union Jack surrounded by the words 'Made in the UK'. Henry vacuums first began production in 1981, and one million are now made annually at the manufacturing site.
