Elaine Paige Reveals Musical Favourites, From The Police to Mozart

Veteran singer and actor Elaine Paige has offered a glimpse into her personal musical journey, revealing the songs that have shaped her life and career. Paige shared that the first song she fell in love with was The Everly Brothers' 'All I Have to Do Is Dream', which she sang with a schoolfriend at age 11 or 12.

Her first single purchase was Perry Como's 'Magic Moments', bought for her mother's birthday from a record shop in Barnet High Street. Paige also disclosed that 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina' was the song that changed her life.

Among her other musical preferences, Paige named The Police's 'Roxanne' as the best song to play at a party, stating she "loved the Police from the get-go." She also expressed her admiration for Mozart, recalling that one of the first songs she sang in public was a Mozart aria, 'Deh vieni, non tardar' from The Marriage of Figaro.
