Olivia Dean surprised the Lollapalooza crowd on Saturday, August 1, by bringing out Sam Fender to perform their hit single 'Rein Me In'. The performance at the T-Mobile stage marked the first time the song has been played live in America.
Dean told the Chicago audience that the song had recently broken the Guinness World Record for the longest-running UK Number One single of all time. 'Rein Me In' has now spent 19 weeks at the top of the UK Official Singles Chart, surpassing Frankie Laine’s 'I Believe', which held the record for 73 years with 18 weeks at Number One in 1953.
The collaborative version of the track was officially released last summer, following live performances at Fender's London and Newcastle shows. It took 35 weeks to reach the top spot after its initial chart entry, peaking in February 2026, and is Fender's first chart-topping single.
Amid the song's success, Fender received the Songwriter Of The Year award at the Ivor Novellos, presented by Elton John. Dean won Best New Artist at the BET Awards last month and secured Album Of The Year for 'The Art Of Loving' at the BRITs in February.
