Electric Car Charger Installation Completed After Two-Month Delay

An electric car charging point has been installed after a two-month delay, despite initial concerns about the cable route and a requirement for additional electrical work.

  • The installation of an electric car charging point took two months to complete.
  • A new electrician confirmed the cable route was fine and bonding was not needed, contradicting a previous assessment.
  • The charging point was installed in approximately one hour on a Monday.

An electric car charging point has been successfully installed, two months after the process began. The installation was completed on a Monday morning by a new electrician.

Previously, an electrician had expressed despair over the proposed cable route and stated that remedial electrical work, referred to as "bonding," was required before installation could continue. This led to a three-day negotiation for pricing and a further three days to secure a second appointment, which was then postponed.

The new electrician, however, found the laid cable route to be acceptable and determined that bonding was not necessary after testing. The charging point was installed within approximately one hour.

An automated message from the charger company later indicated that a qualified electrician would be arriving that afternoon, despite the installation already being complete.
