Ryan Moore is booked to ride the Ian Williams-trained Ozat in the Shergar Cup Mile at Ascot today, 7 August 2026. The race, scheduled for 4.30pm, concludes Shergar Cup Day.
Ozat, described as an interesting contender, caught attention in Goodwood’s Golden Mile last week. The horse travelled well but faced repeated traffic problems, leading its jockey to ease it up in the final furlong. Ozat finished 15th in that race, a position not considered a true reflection of its run.
The horse has since dropped two pounds in the handicap. Ozat also has previous form at Ascot, having run in the Royal Hunt Cup in June.
In an earlier race, the Shergar Cup Stayers Handicap (2.10pm), Mountain Road is expected to perform strongly. This seven-year-old horse recently triumphed at Thirsk.
