Enes Kanter Freedom has said he will be at Game 3 of the WNBA Finals in Atlanta on Wednesday as a fan. The former NBA player made the announcement on social media on Monday.
His most recent appearance at a WNBA game came in late August, when he attended a fixture between Chicago and Indiana, with Chicago hosting. He was ejected from that game and banned from the arena after a heated interaction with Sky guard Natasha Cloud.
Sky owner Michael Alter stated that Kanter Freedom began to "chirp" and "engage" Cloud, and said he believed Kanter Freedom intended to provoke Cloud, an LGBTQ+ advocate. Alter said: "He has demonstrated to us unequivocally that he has the potential to be a threat."
The league declined to comment when asked about the possibility of Freedom attending the Finals.
Freedom and Royce White, another former NBA player, have declared for the WNBA draft, saying they identify as women. But a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press in August that the two are not eligible.
