The run chase began dramatically, with Mohammad Abbas dismissing Ben Duckett and Emilio Gay in the first over, leaving England at two for two.

Joe Root, who walked out after the first over, was reprieved on 20 when a delivery that hit his leg stump was called a no-ball. He went on to score an unbeaten 62, alongside Jordan Cox, who remained not out on 59, as England reached their target of 130 by 1.07pm.

Root has resumed the England captaincy with this series victory.
