England, the 2019 champions, have avoided a group-stage clash with defending champions Australia and world number one-ranked India in the draw for the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. Harry Brook's side, who have seen a resurgence in the 50-over format, will instead face co-hosts South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and a qualifier.
The tournament draw sees India and Pakistan once again placed in the same group, alongside Australia, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and a qualifier. The group stage will open on 7 October with a repeat of the 2023 final, as India and Australia meet in Cape Town. Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are scheduled to play in Johannesburg on 10 October.
England's campaign begins on 8 October against Bangladesh, followed by a match against Sri Lanka on 13 October, both in Windhoek, Namibia. They will then play South Africa in Gqeberha on 16 October, before travelling to Harare to face a qualifier on 20 October. This visit to Zimbabwe marks England's first match there since 2004. England will round off their group stage against New Zealand in Gqeberha on 23 October.
The top three teams from each group, along with the best fourth-placed finisher, will advance to the Super 7 stage. From there, the top four teams will progress to the semi-finals, scheduled for 17 and 18 November, leading up to the final on 21 November in Johannesburg.
