England Cricket Team Faces Off-Field Scrutiny Ahead of Lord's Test

England's cricket team is dealing with renewed scrutiny over off-field conduct following a recent incident, ahead of their Lord's Test against Pakistan.

  • England's cricket team has faced late-night, drink-related incidents for the second time this summer.
  • Brydon Carse was involved in an incident outside Molly Malone’s Irish Tavern, though he was with his county at the time.
  • Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, is expected to return for the Lord's Test, reportedly 90% fit after a hand injury.

The England cricket team is once again under scrutiny regarding off-field behaviour, following a recent incident involving Brydon Carse. This marks the second time this summer that a significant win has been overshadowed by late-night, drink-related headlines.

Carse, who was with his county at the time, was reportedly filmed outside Molly Malone’s Irish Tavern. This incident comes as captain Joe Root attempts to establish new team standards, particularly with a new head coach yet to be appointed.

Despite the off-field issues, England is expected to field an unchanged team for the Lord's Test against Pakistan on Thursday. Pakistan will see the return of their captain, Babar Azam, who is reportedly 90% fit after missing the previous match due to a hand injury.

The Lord's pitch, overseen by MCC head groundsman Karl McDermott, previously received an “unsatisfactory” label and a demerit point from the match referee for the quick-fire New Zealand Test in June.
