England's impressive T20 form continued as they thrashed Sri Lanka by six wickets in Cardiff, sealing the series with a match to spare. Tom Banton's unbeaten 52 ensured England made light work of chasing a target of 146, reaching it in just 12.1 overs.
Jos Buttler and Aneurin Donald provided a rapid start with an opening stand of 51 in 4.3 overs. Captain Harry Brook also contributed a quickfire 23 off eight balls, including three sixes, before Banton took charge, clubbing four sixes in his 24-ball knock.
Sri Lanka struggled to 145-9, with Pathum Nissanka top-scoring with 37. Liam Dawson was instrumental in halting Sri Lanka's momentum, taking two wickets in the final over of the powerplay and finishing with figures of 3-32. Jamie Overton also claimed 2-23, while Sonny Baker impressed with 1-15.
