England dominate Pakistan on day one of Edgbaston Test

England bowled out Pakistan for 133 and then reached 156 for four at stumps on day one of their Test match at Edgbaston, leading by 23 runs.

England asserted dominance over Pakistan on the first day of their Test match at Edgbaston, bowling out the visitors for 133. Josh Tongue claimed four wickets for 42 runs, while Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer shared six wickets.

Robinson, who conceded just 15 runs in 11 overs, reached 102 Test wickets, with Saim Ayub becoming his 100th victim. Pakistan's top five batsmen were all dismissed for single figures, a first in the first innings of a Test in England.

In response, England reached 156 for four at stumps, leading by 23 runs. Emilio Gay scored 60 before being dismissed, and Harry Brook was 52 not out at the close of play. Captain Joe Root was out lbw for the 10th time in 13 innings.
