England fall to 3-2 Nations League defeat against Spain

England were beaten 3-2 by world champions Spain in their first Nations League match since this summer's World Cup.

England suffered a 3-2 defeat against world champions Spain in an entertaining Nations League encounter. This marked the Three Lions' first match since the recent World Cup.

Spain initially took the lead with a goal from Lamine Yamal. However, England responded strongly, with Anthony Gordon scoring an excellent counter-attack goal and Harry Kane adding a deflected header to put England 2-1 up.

The momentum shifted when Kane missed a penalty. Spain then levelled the score through Alex Baena, before Mikel Oyarzabal netted the winning goal. Jude Bellingham and Anthony Gordon were standout performers for England, both earning a rating of 8, while Marc Guehi received a 5 for an uncharacteristic error that led to Spain's opening goal.
