Enter Shikari has confirmed they will go on an indefinite hiatus at the close of 2027. The band shared a lengthy letter with fans on social media, detailing their future plans.
The announcement follows frontman Rou Reynolds' video last month, where he explained the band's reduced activity in 2026. Reynolds cited burnout, OCD, and nervous system sensitisation as reasons for his 'capacity to zero'.
The group stated they have no plans extending beyond the end of next year, at which point they will "fall dormant as a recording and performing entity." They noted that this dormancy might conclude with a return to activity or with extinction, adding, "We have no idea which."
Enter Shikari also mentioned that 2027 will mark 20 years since the release of their debut album, 'Take To The Skies'. They acknowledged the "obvious negative impact on one’s mental health" from touring, but affirmed their love for what they do.
The band has intimate warm-up shows scheduled for this month, ahead of their largest-ever UK and European tour in November. They are also working on new music and have booked festival dates in mainland Europe and North America for 2027, with plans to announce US shows for January.
