Essex cricketer Robin Das has been charged with two counts of rape. The 24-year-old is set to appear at Inner London Crown Court on Friday, 9 October.
The charges, made on 23 July 2026, follow his arrest on 27 August 2025. This arrest was in connection with reports of a woman being raped in Brixton on 30 March 2024, according to the Metropolitan Police.
Essex County Cricket Club confirmed that Das, a top-order batter, has been suspended since his arrest. He last played for the club in a One-Day Cup match on 21 July, which was his only senior appearance in the 2026 season.
