Eve Muirhead, a former Olympic champion, has announced her return to competitive curling, targeting a fifth Winter Olympics appearance at Alpes 2030. The 36-year-old, who previously skipped the Team GB team to gold at Beijing 2022, confirmed her comeback on Thursday after a four-year retirement.
Muirhead plans to compete in the mixed doubles event, partnering with two-time Olympic silver medallist Bobby Lammie. The pair previously won the world title together in 2022, which was Muirhead's final year before her initial retirement.
During her time away from the sport, Muirhead served as Team GB's chef de mission for the Milan-Cortina Olympics, wrote a memoir, and started a curling academy. She stated that British Curling approached her earlier this year with the opportunity to compete in mixed doubles.
