Former Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma is reportedly close to signing with Ajax on an initial deal that would run until the end of the current season. The 30-year-old defensive midfielder, who was out of contract after his release from Spurs in June, is now set for a return to football in the Netherlands.
It is understood that Bissouma has agreed to a deal with the Eredivisie club, which includes an option for an additional 12 months. The Mali international is currently in Amsterdam to finalise the move.
Bissouma joined Tottenham in 2022 following a high-profile transfer from Brighton, making 111 appearances for the North London team. In August 2025, he was left out of a Uefa Super Cup squad by then-Spurs manager Thomas Frank due to persistent lateness. In his final season with Tottenham, Bissouma made 11 appearances, all in the Premier League, as the club finished 17th for the second consecutive season.
