Fabio Wardley is set to fight Daniel Dubois in a rematch this Saturday at London's O2 Arena. The bout comes five months after Wardley sustained his first professional defeat, losing his WBO world champion title to Dubois in May.
Wardley, who was stopped in the 11th round of their previous encounter, stated he requested the rematch immediately after the fight. He described being in the changing room and asking his promoter, Frank Warren, to arrange another fight in November.
Despite the brutal nature of his first career loss, Wardley returned to the gym within two weeks. He believes there is significant room for his own growth and adjustment in style, which he intends to apply in the upcoming fight.
