Cricket enthusiasts have cast their votes to determine the 2026 County Championship Team of the Season. The selection process, which took place during the final round of the championship, saw fans choose two openers, three middle-order batters, one wicketkeeper, two all-rounders, two pace bowlers, and a spinner.
Northants' Ricardo Vasconcelos, the leading scorer in Division Two with 1,159 runs, and Durham's Ben McKinney, who scored 1,044 runs, were selected as the openers. Joe Clarke of Notts, the country's leading run-scorer with 1,288 runs, joins Somerset's Tom Abell and Durham's David Bedingham in the middle order.
Gloucestershire's James Bracey was named wicketkeeper, securing 44% of the votes after scoring 1,096 runs. The all-rounder spots went to Somerset's Craig Overton, who scored 734 runs and took 53 wickets, and Yorkshire's George Hill, with 748 runs and 48 wickets.
Hampshire's Kyle Abbott and Warwickshire's Ethan Bamber were chosen as the pace bowlers, with Bamber leading all wicket-takers with 69. Notts' Liam Patterson-White, who claimed 42 wickets, was selected as the spinner.
