A new ranking has been compiled to identify the most iconic bargain picks in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) history, since the game's inception for the 2002-03 season. The list, created with the help of FPL expert Thomas Woods and Fantasy Football Scout research, focuses on players who delivered significant value for their initial low price.

Among the top 10 iconic players are Harry Kane, who started the 2014-15 season at £5m and scored 21 Premier League goals, racking up 191 points. Charlie Adam, priced at £5m for Blackpool in 2010-11, achieved 192 points, the highest score by a promoted player at the time. Michel Vorm, a £4m goalkeeper for Swansea in 2011-12, kept 14 clean sheets and earned the second-most points for a goalkeeper that season.

Other notable mentions include Stuart Dallas for Leeds in 2020-21, Michail Antonio for West Ham in 2019-20, and John Lundstram for Sheffield United in the same season. While premium players like Mohamed Salah have achieved record-breaking point totals, the ranking specifically celebrates those who provided exceptional value for money.

Why this matters: The ranking offers insight into historical FPL performance and value, which can inform future fantasy football strategies.
