This marks Fery's first semi-final appearance since Wimbledon in July. He will now face James Duckworth, an opponent he previously beat in Cincinnati earlier this month. Duckworth advanced after defeating Fabian Marozsan.
Fery's strong performance this summer, including a surprise run to the Wimbledon semi-finals, has lifted him to 37th in the world rankings, earning him a place in the US Open for the first time. He is set to play 13th seed Lorenzo Musetti in the opening round.
