Welsh cyclists Emma Finucane and Anna Morris have emerged victorious in their respective events at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Finucane secured her second gold medal in two nights, triumphing in the team sprint against English rival Sophie Capewell. This achievement makes her the first Welsh woman since Kirsty Wade in 1986 to win two golds at the same Commonwealth Games.

Anna Morris also claimed a gold medal, dominating the 4,000m individual pursuit final by beating Josie Knight. Morris, a double world individual pursuit champion, secured her victory with a time of 4:24:272. Later in the day, Morris finished second in the scratch race but was subsequently demoted to fifth for entering the sprinter's lane.

With Rhian Edmunds also earning a bronze in the sprint, Wales has now amassed six medals, including three golds, over the first two nights of competition at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.
