Five members of Gould family serve as Cambridgeshire firefighters

Five members of the Gould family, including father Philip and his two daughters, are currently serving as firefighters in Cambridgeshire. The family's involvement extends to other emergency services.

Five members of the Gould family are currently serving in the Cambridgeshire fire service, turning the profession into a family tradition. Philip Gould, 59, who joined the service in 1995, works as an on-call firefighter in Peterborough.

His daughter, Alex Gould, 28, recently started as an on-call firefighter at Thorney Fire Station, working alongside her father. Alex's sister, Emily Gould, 26, works in the service's control room in Huntingdon, mobilising crews including her father and sister.

Philip's brother, Anthony Gould, 61, is the chief fire officer of Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade. Anthony's son, Jacob Gould, 33, joined Dogsthorpe Fire Station in 2020 as a full-time firefighter.

The family's commitment to emergency services also includes Philip's wife, Jo, who works in A&E at Peterborough City Hospital, and Anthony's daughter, Megan, an officer at Cambridgeshire Police.
