Thousands of homes in parts of Crawley are without water or are experiencing low pressure after a significant water pipe burst on Sunday morning. Sussex Police have described the incident as a "significant" leak.
Southern Water stated that approximately 9,000 customers have been impacted. The company is in the process of setting up bottled water stations for affected residents.
Roads around the Southgate Roundabout, including Southgate Avenue, Crawley Avenue, and a section of the A23, have been closed due to the burst pipe and subsequent flooding. Sussex Police have advised people to avoid the area while emergency services manage the situation.
Southern Water confirmed that its teams are on site and are working to repair the burst and restore supplies as quickly and safely as possible. Areas experiencing a loss of water supply or low pressure include Woolborough Road, Holmcroft, Southgate, Tilgate, and Furnace Green.
