Flora Pili: Katie Taylor's opponent for Croke Park retirement fight

Flora Pili, an unbeaten French boxer, will face Katie Taylor for undisputed super-lightweight gold at Croke Park on Saturday night. Taylor, 40, is bidding to become a three-time undisputed champion in her retirement fight.

  • Pili is 29 with a 12-0 record (2 KOs) and holds the IBO belt.
  • Taylor carries the IBF, WBO and WBA belts; the vacant WBC title is also at stake.
  • A sold-out crowd of 80,000 is expected at Croke Park.

Katie Taylor will bid farewell to boxing on Saturday night at Croke Park, where she faces unbeaten French boxer Flora Pili in a main-event clash for undisputed super-lightweight gold.

Taylor, 40, will carry the IBF, WBO and WBA belts into the stadium, with the vacant WBC title also on the line. Pili, 29, brings her IBO strap and an unbeaten record of 12-0 with two knockouts.

Bookmakers list Taylor as a heavy favourite at 1/20, with Pili at 10/1 and the draw at 20/1. Pili's most notable win came in 2023, when she beat Silvia Bortot on a split decision; Bortot has since lost on points to Lauren Price and Mikaela Mayer.

Promoter Eddie Hearn said this week that Croke Park officials had initially been unsure about hosting the event, but that pre-sale ticket demand reached 40,000. He added: "How many could we have done? I don't know, maybe another 40,000, 50,000, 100,000?"

Why this matters: The fight marks the end of Katie Taylor's career and her first bout at Croke Park, a venue she has long dreamed of fighting in.

What this means for you: Fans attending or watching will see Taylor's final professional fight, with the undisputed super-lightweight titles on the line.
