Jordan Caldwell, a youth coach for Glentoran FC in Belfast, recently celebrated his 30th birthday by participating in a professional bodybuilding photoshoot. This milestone marked a significant moment in his recovery journey after battling anorexia for almost two decades, a period his parents reportedly feared he might not survive.
Caldwell, who has lived with an eating disorder since he was 12, described the photoshoot as the culmination of a dream he had held since a relapse in his teens. He stated that reaching out to online fitness coach Aamir Ishtiaque four years ago was a turning point, providing him with a new purpose.
At 18, Caldwell experienced his lowest point, leading to a stay at a London treatment centre. His intense struggle with anorexia also resulted in a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He hopes that by sharing his story, others facing similar challenges will find strength in their passions.
