The life of a footballer's partner can be a whirlwind of uncertainty, particularly during the twice-yearly transfer windows. Jessica Beaumont, partner of Owen Dale, has experienced this firsthand, moving five times in five years since living together. She highlights the need to be prepared for anything, as last-minute deals can necessitate relocating hundreds of miles.
Jessica recalls a particularly challenging period when Owen Dale's loan deal to Portsmouth, over 200 miles away, happened shortly after they had bought their first house and she had given birth. They spent just one night in their new home before having to rent it out and move to Portsmouth, where Owen had chosen accommodation via FaceTime.
The constant upheaval has also impacted Jessica's career. She had to quit her job in law, putting her degree on hold, and now works in social media from home. She notes that while people often associate footballers' partners with a glamorous lifestyle, significant sacrifices are made to support a partner's career, especially for those in lower leagues who do not have the same financial security as Premier League players.
