Ahad Ali, who previously managed an accounting team handling over 2,000 returns annually, has developed Tabby, an AI-driven bookkeeping interface. Ali stated his frustration with existing accounting software, believing small businesses require less software and more automation.
Tabby is designed to manage client paperwork and provide real-time profit and loss data. It uses AI to build live financial health dashboards by importing account data via Plaid. While a version exists for accounting firms, Ali's primary goal is to reach end-users directly.
Fourteen months after its inception, Tabby has attracted 5,500 small businesses and generates approximately $100,000 in annual recurring revenue. The company, comprising seven team members, is currently seeking $1 million in pre-seed funding and is preparing to introduce 'Tabby Talk', a natural language interface for the platform.
