A former mayor of Anchorage, Dan A Sullivan, has endorsed the Republican incumbent, Dan S Sullivan, in Alaska's US Senate election. This endorsement backs the incumbent against a challenger who also shares the name, Dan J Sullivan.

Dan A Sullivan, who served as Anchorage mayor for six years from 2009, urged Alaskans to vote for Senator Daniel S Sullivan, stating he has been "great for Alaska." He referred to himself as the "OG Dan Sullivan," a colloquial term meaning original.

Dan J Sullivan emerged from an 18 August primary to join a four-candidate field for the general election on 3 November. His presence has led to accusations that he is a Democratic plant aiming to draw votes away from Dan S Sullivan, potentially benefiting Democrat Mary Peltola. Dan J Sullivan, who appeared on the primary ballot with no party affiliation, has denied these claims, telling the Associated Press in June that it was his choice to run and he had "every right to run."

The Republican party unsuccessfully attempted to prevent Dan J Sullivan from running in the primary, arguing his campaign was a Democratic-engineered attempt to confuse voters.
