Bobb'e J. Thompson, an actor who appeared in the Disney sitcom That's So Raven, has been sentenced to 30 months in a federal prison for a firearm charge. The 30-year-old actor was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand in Sioux City on September 16.
Thompson, from Kansas City, pleaded guilty in April to the charge of possession of a firearm by a felon. Federal prosecutors stated that law enforcement found a fully loaded .40 caliber handgun, which had been reported stolen, during a traffic stop in September 2025.
Officers stopped Thompson's vehicle in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, after he was observed driving at 104 mph in a 70 mph zone. Prosecutors said officers noticed Thompson and a passenger swap seats and detected the smell of marijuana from the vehicle.
During a search, authorities reportedly discovered several bags of marijuana and the handgun, which had a 15-round magazine and a round in the chamber. Thompson will also serve a three-year term of supervised release after leaving prison, as there is no parole under the federal system.
