A former Green Party councillor has appeared in court after being charged with attacking a member of the public, three police officers, and a member of police staff.
Siobhan Harper-Nunes, 66, was arrested on suspicion of assault after police were called to the junction of Monument Road and Hagley Road in Birmingham on 6 August. She appeared before magistrates in Birmingham on Thursday and was released on unconditional bail.
District Judge Michelle Smith adjourned the hearing until 17 September. This followed a request from Harper-Nunes' solicitor, Georgina Ellis, for CCTV relating to the case to be reviewed.
Harper-Nunes was elected in May to represent the Ladywood ward for the city council. Following the assault charges, she was suspended from the Green Party and is now listed as an independent councillor.
