A landscaping business in Canberra, Australia, which operated in early 2020, ceased trading a year after its launch. The business had secured a tender to mulch parks throughout Canberra during the Covid lockdowns.

The work, carried out by a team including an ex-sports physio, a former rugby player, and a former plasterer, involved spreading truckloads of mulch around trees in empty parks. However, the mulching reportedly led to an outbreak of weeds in many of the parks, which subsequently had to be de-mulched.

One individual who worked for the business in 2020, having left a human resources job, found they were not suited for manual labour. They later pursued studies in journalism.
