The trial of a former New South Wales (NSW) police officer, Beau Lamarre-Condon, accused of murdering two men, has begun in Sydney. Mr Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one charge of aggravated break and enter.
The charges relate to the deaths of TV presenter Jesse Baird, 26, and his partner Luke Davies, 29, in February 2024. The 31-year-old's case has experienced delays since charges were laid.
Justice Natalie Adams will preside over the trial, which is slated to run for two to three months and is expected to include evidence from over 200 witnesses. A jury will be selected on Monday at the NSW Supreme Court on King Street.
