Four arrested after baby girl dies on Staffordshire camping trip

Four individuals have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a three-month-old girl during a camping trip in Staffordshire.

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a three-month-old girl died in Staffordshire. The death occurred while the baby was camping with her family in woodland off Strawberry Lane near Great Wyrley.

Paramedics from the West Midlands ambulance service were called at 8.39am on Saturday, 5 September, responding to a report of a child in cardiac arrest. An air ambulance also attended, but the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

Staffordshire police arrested a 42-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from south Staffordshire, a 20-year-old woman from Wolverhampton, and an 18-year-old man from Walsall. All four have since been bailed with conditions as the investigation continues.

DI Josh Lee from Staffordshire police's child protection team stated that officers are working to investigate the circumstances and are keeping an open mind at this early stage. The incident is being treated as isolated.
