Four people accused of murdering a newborn baby found dead at a house in Sheffield are scheduled to stand trial next year. The baby girl, named only as Baby S, was found on Sunday at a property in Holywell Heights, Wincobank, having suffered 33 wounds in 15 separate stabbings.
Andrea Skopova, 20, Peter Horvath, 19, Peter Horvath, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37, all Slovakian nationals, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court charged with the child's murder. They are also charged with causing or allowing the death of a child, and perverting the course of justice by allegedly cleaning the scene.
A 15-year-old girl also appeared in court, charged with perverting the course of justice. All five defendants were remanded into custody, with the adults due for a further hearing on 2 October and the girl remanded into youth custody.
Prosecutor Luke Hopkinson told Sheffield Magistrates Court that the baby's body was discovered on top of a washing machine in an outhouse at the Holywell Heights property. Judge Sarah Wright has set a trial date for 12 April 2027, which is expected to last six to seven weeks.
Two other women, aged 26 and 37, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, remain on bail.
