Comedian Freddie Meredith has been confirmed as a new permanent cast member for the second season of SNL UK. Meredith, who has previously acted in TV shows such as Big Boys and Such Brave Girls, will join the 11 original cast members who are all returning for the new series.
Meredith's addition to the cast follows his Edinburgh Fringe debut last month, where he was nominated for Best Newcomer for his show, Need a Light?. He described signing up for the series as a "no-brainer," stating it is "the most iconic comedy show and it looks like so much fun."
The second season of SNL UK is scheduled to begin on Saturday, 12 September. The opening episode will feature Jeff Goldblum as the guest host and CMAT as the musical guest. The series will run for 12 episodes, an increase from the first season's extended run of eight episodes.
