Residents of Frensham, a village in Surrey, have expressed anger following a prolonged broadband outage that left some without internet for weeks. The disruption reportedly began on 5 September, with one resident, Jill, stating her husband's heart monitor requires connectivity.

Vicky Kenish, another resident, reported being "terribly, terribly stressed" by the lack of internet, which also affected her landline. She noted difficulties such as being unable to check bus times when her car broke down, especially in an area with poor mobile data.

Mark Billings, also from Frensham, said he had been without internet for over three weeks, impacting devices like light switches linked to WiFi. He criticised Openreach for a perceived lack of information during the outage.

An Openreach spokesperson apologised for the loss of service, attributing it to a burst water pipe damaging underground cables. On Thursday morning, Openreach stated that repairs had been completed and villagers should have their broadband restored.
