The Friedkin Group, owners of Everton Football Club, are exploring new investment options, including a potential sale of a controlling interest in the club. This news comes less than two years after they secured a controlling stake by acquiring Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1 per cent share in December 2024.
A statement from the club confirmed the exploration of options, noting that when The Friedkin Group became custodians, Everton faced significant financial uncertainty. The group's immediate priority was to provide stability and investment, including helping to complete the new Hill Dickinson Stadium, which the club moved into ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The Friedkin Group, which also owns Serie A club Roma, reportedly paid £400 million for the club in 2024. Despite a strong start to the current season under manager David Moyes, with nine points from five Premier League matches, the owners faced criticism after a summer transfer window that saw the sale of Beto and the collapse of a deal for Folarin Balogun.
