Fury-Joshua Fight Could Be Postponed Over Venue Disagreement

The heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua faces potential postponement if a venue cannot be agreed upon, according to promoter Frank Warren.

  • Frank Warren stated the fight could be postponed if a venue agreement is not reached.
  • Madison Square Garden in New York is currently the favoured venue.
  • Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has indicated they would not have signed for a fight in America.

The highly anticipated heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could be postponed if an agreement on a venue is not reached, promoter Frank Warren has suggested. Despite this, Warren remains confident the 'Battle of Britain' will proceed as planned in November.

Madison Square Garden in New York has emerged as the current favourite to host the fight. This follows an issue with the start time at initial frontrunner Wembley, and Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh's belief that the United States serves a wider global audience.

However, Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn stated this week that they would not have signed the contract if the fight was in America, indicating a need for "discussion around that." Responding to Hearn, Warren told Box Nation that Fury has a different agreement and that the fight will happen if they agree to the venue, or not if they don't. He added that the venue will be announced "in due course."
