American welterweight Ryan Garcia is set to defend his WBC title against Britain's Conor Benn in a highly anticipated clash next weekend. The fight, headlining in Las Vegas, marks Garcia's first defence of his world title, while Benn challenges for a major belt for the first time.
The bout is scheduled for Saturday 12 September at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card will commence at 1am BST on Sunday, with the main-event ring walks expected around 4am BST.
Benn, 30, enters the fight following a points win against former champion Regis Prograis in April and a decision victory over Chris Eubank Jr. Garcia, 28, secured the WBC strap by defeating Mario Barrios in February.
