In a tantalising tussle for top honours, our team secured an impressive six medals – two glittering golds, two silver spoils, and two hard-earned bronzes – sending a deafening message to their international rivals: GB is here to stay!
The championship, staged at the very venue that will host canoe slalom events in LA28, provided the perfect testing ground for our athletes. And what a baptism of fire it was! Temperatures soared, but Britain's brave paddlers and coaches dug deep, displaying an unwavering commitment to teamwork and determination that inspired all.
Joe Clarke was one of the heroes of the hour, claiming top honours in the men's kayak cross – his world title a testament to his peerless skill. The GB men's team also secured the coveted canoe team gold, cementing their status as one of the sport's elite outfits. Adam Burgess added a vital silver medal to our tally with an outstanding performance in the men's canoe final, while Kimberley Woods took bronze in the women's kayak. Lois and Sam Leaver made their mark too, each securing crucial points for Team GB – Lois with her women's kayak cross bronze and Sam with his first senior medal in the men's kayak cross.
