George Michael's 'Faith' guitar to be auctioned, expected to fetch £100,000

The guitar famously played by George Michael in the music video for his song 'Faith' is expected to sell for £100,000 at an upcoming auction. Sworders auction house will put the instrument under the hammer on 29 October.

The guitar is part of a collection belonging to George Michael's former personal assistant, Siobhan Bailey, who died in 2014. The collection also includes tour itineraries from Wham! and George Michael tours, with estimates of £300 to £600, and a gold disc for 500,000 UK sales of 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go', expected to fetch at least £200.

The complete archive is anticipated to sell for over £200,000. Guy Schooling, chairman of Sworders, described the 'Faith' guitar as the "jewel in the crown" of the collection.
