Photojournalist Olaoluwa Olowu is documenting the lives of female boxers in Ghana through her project, 'Women Who Fight'. Olowu aims to ensure that female boxers are represented in the sport's public archive, noting that street art and signage predominantly feature male boxers.

One of the athletes featured is Elizabeth Boakye, an amateur boxer and member of the Black Hitters, Ghana's national women's amateur boxing team. Boakye, who trains at Black Panthers boxing gym in Jamestown under coach Ebenezer Adjei (Coach Killer), sees boxing as a source of empowerment, building confidence and creating opportunities for her future.

Olowu photographed Boakye in May 2026 in Accra's Abossey Okai neighbourhood, positioning her beneath a painting of a male boxer. This image aims to integrate women into the visible landscape of boxing, acknowledging their participation despite often being less represented than men.
